I was in NYC outside of a Baskin Robbins when I saw a BR employee grab a cane from a homeless man, break it over his knee, and throw the pieces at the homeless guy. The BR employee then ran inside, and I called out to him as I followed him in, but he ignored me and went into the back of the store. I waited for 10 minutes to talk to the manager, who came out and said he had seen what happened. He seemed to blow me off though, so I called up BR customer service and reported the incident. They thanked me and said they'd take appropriate action. I followed up a couple weeks later to see if it had been resolved, and they said the offending employee had been "formally reprimanded." I'm not sure what that means, but I know it didn't mean he was fired since he was still working there two weeks later.
Well, I'm not shopping at Baskin Robbins / Dunk'n Donuts anymore (same company, I guess). You simply can't treat people like that. The fact that the employee did it on his shift, in his uniform, in the doorway of the store, and the company doesn't care about it is pretty despicable in my opinion.
so, im never for random or thought out acts of sensless violence, i dont even hunt animals. BUT, this really gave me the red ass. i go to nyc alot, and im a huge angry dude (with a heart of gold lol) and if you break me off an address and a description of the offender i think ill just have to break off his head. just kidding. or am i? at very least, i can just have them shut down. its nice to know people in high places!
i was telling a friend about this post and she told me that she knew some people who would go out and spray paint homeless people for fun. i really can not wrap my head around this sort of behavior??? the things people consider fun....it's heart breaking. i am glad that you tried to do something about it....even though it did not seem to help..what the crap is wrong with people.
